Tasting Notes
There’s a tightly focused citrus profile on first impression, lemon zest and grapefruit, then you find the layers, stone fruit and naartjie, which deepen in the flavours. Oak is subtle, allows the fruit to shine, giving a savoury shading, like oat biscuit, almond biscotti. Essentially a warm, ripe palate without being showy, there’s lovely balance here between the oak and fruit. Limy acidity adds a seam of freshness, which makes this food compatible, but also tasty enough for solo drinking.
Food Suggestions
Less oak than the 2015 vintage has improved the harmony, made it even more food compatible.
